Pool heat pumps are the most common choice because they use electricity efficiently. Gas heaters warm the water faster and suit pools used now and then. Solar can lower running costs further. The right choice depends on the pool, how often it is used and what energy is available on site.
Does a pool cover make a difference?
Yes. A heated pool loses most of its heat from the water surface, especially at night and in wind. A cover keeps that heat in, so the heater has less work to do.
Can a jacuzzi be heated too?
Yes. A jacuzzi is smaller and kept hotter than a pool, so it is usually heated separately or on its own circuit. We plan pool and jacuzzi heating together.
Where does the heating equipment go?
Usually in or beside the pool plant room, on the filtration circuit. A heat pump needs open air around it, so we choose its position with airflow and noise in mind.
What does pool heating cost?
The heater is sized from the pool’s volume, the temperature you want, the months you want to swim, and whether the pool is indoor, outdoor or covered at night. Those set both the equipment and its running cost. A cover often lets the heater be smaller. We size it at the survey and quote it with the connection to your filtration system.
